"Toby,
I love the bike. All the best to you. As I said before, sometimes it is worth waiting for the really good things in life. This bike is one of those things for me.
Thank you very much!"
~ Randall Green (2006 Custom Element)
"Hello,
My mountain bike just turned 10 years old and I am still enjoying it as much today as when I first got it. I've ridden it in 4 states and put countless miles on it. I have had no problems with it, ever, and wanted to congratulate you guys on doing an excellent job. Hopefully I will still have it in 10 more years, and it will still be going strong.
Great job everyone."
~ James Thornton (1996 Phat Cat FS)
"Hello Alpine Designs,
I purchased an Express model probably back around 1994 and used it
extensively for transportation through whatever I wanted - fields, dirt,
mud, and even pavement if I wanted to be nice. Commuting from Sagle, across
the Long Bridge, and into town and back again was a common affair as well.
In 1997 I moved from Sandpoint to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and have been
here ever since. I think I'm the only person in the Middle-Atlantic region
with an Alpine Designs bicycle! Though probably not the recommended way to
operate a good bicycle, I'm still on the original tires and chain - last
Spring a local bike shop that did a tune-up said that everything still was
in serviceable condition - tough stuff!
Thanks for the years of dependable service."
~ Matt Walsh (1994 Express)
"Hello Toby and the gang,
Was pleasantly surprised to come across your website today. I still have one of the original TI road bikes you made a while back. It
is still going strong, helping me guide trips throughout the world. After thousands of miles on the road and in the air the frame is strong.
Get a number of folks asking about where I got it, will be sure to refer them to your website."

"Great frame! The frame looks outstanding! Thanks so much. The guys at the local shop thought it looked pretty darn nice. They especially liked the bottom bracket gussett."
~ Art Ballelli (2005 Custom SCR)
"Hey Toby! Check out my pics from the cyclocross season so far. Your custom AD cross frame is finally seeing the battle action it was made for!
Although it has done really well at touring, commuting, and as a rain bike for the past 10,000 miles.
Later,"

"Over the last 13 years my family has bought 5 bikes from Alpine Designs, and they are now building us a 6th. They consistently turn out high quality bikes and stand behind their products 100 percent. Owner Toby Feuling has created a wonderful shop where you are welcomed as soon as you walk in the door, and always given personal attention. The shop environment is colorful, fun, and full of beautiful bikes that just inspire you to ride - or ride more.
I have an awesome, custom-built mountain bike that they built for me in 2004: titanium frame, Chris King hubs, Manitou skareb shock, Magura disc brakes, Race Face and Shimano XTR components. I am a small woman who rides A LOT. I wanted a high-performance bike that would fit me, have minimal breakdowns 'out there', and that would be fun to ride. Owner Toby Feuling and head mechanic Dave Parkins sat down with me and helped me choose features and components that were right for my size and style of riding. My new bike rides like a dream, my Dream Machine! It's light and responsive, durable, and a gas to ride! I would never have gotten a bike that fits me and my riding style so well if I'd bought a factory bike, even an expensive one. My new bike inspires me to ride more, and isn't that what it's all about? Anyone wanna go ride?"

"I am lucky to live in North Idaho where we have miles of snakey single-track. We have a bunch of people who do epic rides every Sunday. Several of our routes have more than 5,000 feet of technical granny gear climbing and are harder than any of the stages in this year's Trans-Rockies Challenge, for instance.
I ride a steel AD soft-tail with a Fox F80X up front, Magura discs all around; Race Face and Sram make up the drive train. I feel like Toby's geometry helps me ride more of the wicked climbs while at the same time making me way faster down hill. The single fastest point of riding on this bike is twisty, rooty single-track. Some kind of magic happens with the steel, the geometry and the rear shock and it's like you can pump the bike like a skateboard, picking up speed from every turn and compression. It's beyond efficient. And when I stay in the saddle through the night, the bike feels like home instead of Jail. On top of how much I love to ride the bike, I feel that a locally produced frame from a locally owned business is The Way. Fight The Power!
Thanks,"
~ Jonny Feaver (2004 Custom SXC)
"Hey Toby and Crew, thanks so much for the custom Alpine Designs bike with Fly - Ti wheels. The bike rides awesome. Having a custom geometry bike made all the difference to my body in the long hours of Ironman Couer d Alene. I came off my AD bike to the run feeling like I had just taken a trip around the block. Now I just have to figure out how to get one of your mountain bikes. Keep up the good work and the great rides!"
~ Jim Barton (2002 Custom S3 SCR)
"Toby, being a pilot in the Air Force requires a lot of travel on my part. As a matter of fact, I just got back from a trip to Qatar. Not too bad... we have a pool there. More importantly, I brought my bike out there. I love riding my bike so much that I bring it everywhere, from the busy streets of Japan, to the desert heat of the Middle East. It is especially fun riding in the red mud of Guam. This bike is a necessary accessory for travel - just like my passport."
~ Greg K. (2002 Cross Boss)
"After getting my custom fit AD tri bike I was able to finish an Ironman with no back pain. The bike gave me fresh legs for the run."
~ Cliff R. (2002 S3 Aero)
"I've been riding AD bikes now for 4 years and I have only recently realized that I will always be outclassed by my bike. Thank God for great equipment!"
~ John Traynor (2003 Custom SXC)
To the team at Alpine Designs, thanks again for all your assistance in helping me get back in the saddle. The temp bike was more than adequate. You guys really came through in a clutch. I can't wait to see the new custom bike. I know it will be awesome!"
~ Ryan H. (Custom S3 Aero)
"6,500+ miles and still irie! Thanks AD!"
~ Ryan "Huck" Rickert (Custom Cross Boss)
"Dear Tobias, I just wanted to tell you that I have been riding your road frame for three days now. I absolutely love it. It corners wonderfully, smooth as silk on the flats and stable as hell on the descents. It doesn't climb or sprint too badly either. Keep up the good work. I have enclosed one of your warranty cards so that you may keep track of my purchase. The folks at Rock and Road did an excellent job building the bike up. Thanks again for making an excellent product."
~ Eric R. (1997 Reynolds 853 Road)
"Hey Toby, how's the dancing lessons going with the new knee? Thanks for the wheelset... it's SWEET!"

"After owning two Alpine Designs bikes I could not miss the opportunity to let you know how much I have appreciated not only the bikes, but also the great service you and your staff have given me. You have always done such a good job of turning the work around quickly as well as going the extra mile to ensure I was satisfied. Thank you."
~ Joe C. (1999 Reynolds 853 Hardtail)

"Let me once again ""hump your leg.""
Will you once again make a donation to the Mt. Hall Mega Auction that I'm involved with. This year's auction is on November 11 and doors open at 11:00 a.m. Yes, it's 11/11/11:00! As a reminder, this auction benefits all the public schools in Boundary County Idaho; we typically get 4-500 people at the auction and raise around $50,000. I've been soliciting for this auction for 9 years now and I think you've been one of the precious few generous folks who've been with me from the beginning. THANK YOU!
As always, I'm happy to reciprocate by donating autographed books to charities you are involved with.

"Kudos to Toby Feuling at Alpine Designs for his work each year of sponsoring and managing the Schweitzer Hill Climb.Toby works hard at making this a fun event for all with prizes and encouragement and cheering for all participants. To Alpine Designs, thanks for letting me race your XLR8R! It was hooked up well. My gates were much faster than anyones. The bike handles great and I was very comfortable with it and pulled down a first in an expert class. I'm only an inter- so that's one class above me. I'm trying to talk my dad into buying one soon. I hope your shop enjoys the trophy.
Yours Truly, "
~ Bryan L. Martin
